It's about time you got this web page back up. I just want everyone to know your webmaster has been gallivanting around with that precious blue eyed grandson of hers most all summer. However, all good things did have to come to an end....Paul made her come home and get to busy on her obligations like the websites and cooking.
Love you sis, I missed this site too. New format looks great.

I am so glad that our website is back up and running. I have really missed it! I want to thank all of you who have shown concern in the death of Mom. The visits at the funeral home and at the memorial service will NEVER be forgotten! Thanks, also, for the cards, calls, prayers, and memorials made in Mother's memory. "Miss Pearline" really made her mark on the Class of '70! We all have our memories of her!!!!!!! Again, thank you for everything- It meant the world to me and my family!!!
P.S. I became a grandmother on September 4th with the birth of Ann-Charlotte Jones ----I'm sure that you will here all about her the next time that we meet!!!     Love you, Ann Homra Cromwell

Hello Martha, It was good to see you this past week in Tiptonville. I was amazed that you recognized me. But after looking at the website for the class of 70 it was really great to go back in time. I have the same picture of the beauty pageant we were in. Those were the times. Keep up the good work on the website, it's great. Kathy Dial Upson class of 73

Hi Debra- Since I don't have your email, this forum will suffice. I am so glad that you and Marty came to the Spring Fling this year. Your presence made the weekend much better, especially when you wore yellow! It was good to talk to Marty as well; I love his dry humor. I too look forward to seeing you next year, if not before. Susie

I have had so much fun with looking at the 7th & 8th grade annual pictures that I have had to tell other people. I have told people from other grades about this link and they are also enjoying it. It is so much fun to look at how much we have changed. Thanks for putting this on the website. Wilma Cain Turner

for my Uncle.... Seagull you fly across the horizon into the misty morning sun, same throughout the whole. Nobody asks you where you are going and nobody knows where you're from. There is a man asking the question is this really the end of the world Seagull you must have known for a long time the shape of things to come Now you fly, through the sky never asking why And you'll fly, all around 'til somebody shoots you down Seagull you fly across the horizon into the misty morning sun Nobody asks you where you are going and nobody knows where you'll fall. Now you fly, through the sky. never asking why. And you fly all around. 'til somebody shoots you down. Now you fly, through the sky. never asking why. And you fly all around. 'til somebody shoots you down. Seagull, fly away. Fly away now. Fly away tomorrow. Fly away my sorrow. ----- rest easy and may your soul forever soar, John

JOHNNY OR "BARREL" AS WE ALL KNEW HIM WAS ALWAYS A (BARREL) OF LAUGHS. HE WAS THE LIFE OF THE PARTY AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU IF HE COULD. HE HAS BEEN LIVING BACK HERE IN LAKE CO FOR ALMOST A YEAR. I WOULD ONLY SEE HIM WHEN HE CAME INTO THE OFFICE TO PAY HIS BILL AND HE TOLD ME HIS HEALTH WAS NOT GOOD AND IT SHOWED. WE WILL MISS HIM BUT HE DID GIVE US SOME LAUGHS AND GOOD TIMES IN OUR YOUNGER DAYS. HATS OFF TO YOU BARREL, WE LOVE YOU. JANIECE WOOD WRAY

Merry Christmas, to everyone who reads this. After a rough couple of months of family health issues (including mine), all is well now.
Since it is good at this time of year to count our blessings, I realize now more than ever how fortunate I am to be a part of the LCHS class of 1970.
Your phone calls, cards, and prayers when I was sick made me feel incredibly loved and speeded my recovery. From the bottom of my heart (now healed),
I wish you all happy holidays and a new year filled with love and all good things. Don't forget about our spring fling in 2008 at Pickwick.
It will be sometime at the end of April, probably either of the final two weekends.
I'll let you know after I have checked with Sharon about her son Eddie's dancing schedule. Life is good! Love you all- Susie Lavenue

Does the class of 1971 and 1972 have a website like ours?
An aside: My New Year resolution is to gain enough weight so that by next Christmas, I can be a Santa Claus with a belly that shakes like
jello when I laugh. Then, I'll try to get on Biggest Loser, one of mine and Helen's favorite shows. Too bad that Santas are being told
that it's now politically incorrect to say "Ho, Ho, Ho".

Reading Judy's earlier message reminds me for some reason of the 8th Grade Riley Bros. Declamation Contest
(or was it the Harvey R. Teague Contest Declamation Contest?.....Ridgely had both before consolidation!).
..Bit of really insignificant trivia...the declamation contest continued for another 10-15 years after we exited the old building.

Hello classmates,
I found the following verse and would like to share it with you this holiday season.

What is Christmas? It is a tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a feverent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace..
Agnes M Pharo

These words are my wish for you this Christmas and throughout 2008.

I came to your site today after reading Martha's post on Laurie Jones' Caring Bridge site. I was in the Class of '73, a freshman when ya'll were seniors. I looked up to many of you during the time that I was growing up in Lake County. It's been great visiting here and catching up on all that's happened. Thanks, Martha, for your work on this site. It took me back home to a time that I remember and love well. God bless each of you! Elizabeth Peacock Brandes ebrandes@ix.netcom.com

Hello Everyone.....this message is from June (Martha's sister). Martha and Paul's oldest son (Will) was traveling from Sturgis, South Dakota, around 1:30am today, heading back to Dallas after being gone on a 10day trip to the motorcycle rally. A 15 yr. old boy ran a stop sign at a high speed and T-boned the Hummer that Will was driving. Passenger Don Ashton and his wife Kelly were with him. Don was killed and Kelly airlifted to Lincoln, Neb. with a broken back and other injury's. Will is stable and in a hospital in Kansas. Broken ribs, bruised lung, with multiple contusions and abrasions. Will's wife, Bernadette (5mo.pregnant) and Will's brother, Michael, are in route to Kansas now. Martha is flying to Dallas....awaiting more news but will possibly be going to Kansas tonight or tomorrow. Please keep all involved in your thoughts and prayers.......much appreciated. You can reach Martha later today (Saturday) on her cell phone: 501-336-4904 or Paul's cell phone # 501-472-7095.

Hey everybody!- I just wanted to let you know how things are going with our family. My dad (Dale Rogers) is doing much better after almost three months of serious illness and recovery. After being in the hospital for almost two months, he was so weak that he could not walk or even rise from a chair. First he had bypass heart surgery, then pulmonary edema, and finally he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Cane Creek rehab center in Martin completely changed his outlook, both mentally and physically. He is home now and doing much better, although he is still weak and takes therapy in Tiptonville. Gail, Dorothy, and I are taking turns staying there until he is well enough to care for himself and Momma. My recovery has been much easier. The cardiologist that I saw last month gave me encouraging news about my own progress. He wants me to have a stress test next month to make sure that nothing is wrong, but says that my heart looks fine. Your kindness during these last three months has reinforced what I already believed: the good folks in Lake County are the best in the world. It has been delightful to run into old friends as I go around town, running errands for Momma and Daddy. It feels like I have come back home again, especially after sleeping so many nights in my old bedroom! This has essentially been my summer vacation, with the exception of going to Gainesville, Florida to help find a house for my daughter Emily and her husband Chad to live next year. He will be in tax law school at the University of Florida for one year. I hope that your summer has been good and that you and your family are happy and well. Love, Susie

"Spent a few days in Denver for a meeting and joined Rileys/Homras in Gulf Shores for a few days otherwise have stayed put. Susie has done well. Had a few concerns but all in all okay. They went to FL for a few days to find a place for Emily/Chad to live. She's been tied up with Mr. Dale quite a bit who has improved some but its been a week since I have heard and thats a long time. Heard Ann had moved Miss Pearline to Savannah." .....Martha

Hi everyone, I loved looking at the new pics of some of your families. You guys are sure getting old, grandmothers and grandfathers. Congratulations on the grandbabies. I hear they are better than your very own kids. You can spoil them and send them home. Alas I have no children and will never be a grandmother. Does that make me younger than you guys. Probably not. It's nice to have this page back. One question, how are Susie and Mr. Dale? Love to all Judy Whitson Mayo 07-24-07 (5 months from today is Christmas Eve)

Hi! I was ever so surprised and pleased to find this web-site. All of the memories of those days gone by came rushing to me as I viewed the pix from way back when. I was also very pleased to see the format in which this website has been designed. Complete with updated information on all of long lost classmates. My name was Cathy Turnage. It is now Cathi Schultz. I live at 11370 W. State Park Street, Crystal River, FL 34428. Phone number is 352-795-1050. I am divorced with two children, Rick and Matthew. Email address is cathi@tvrs.com. Would love to hear from some of you old-timers!!! Not sure that I can make the reunion this year but I'll try for next year! Go Falcons! Best regards, Cathi

Hello Everybody- I hope you are making plans to come to Pickwick on the last weekend in April. I found out last night that we will be able to use our friend's cabin just down the road. It sleeps 8-10 people in a pinch. Ours is about the same. Please let me know if I need to save you a room in either home, or if you plan to rent a motel room down the road. We will work out more details later. Remember, this "spring fling" is strictly to relax and enjoy. Please contact each other in case someone does not check the website. See you in a few months. Hello Everybody- Let's all plan to come to Pickwick this April 27-29. Actually, I plan to go there myself on Thursday, April 26 so if anyone wants to join me a day early, you are certainly welcome. This time we welcome all the guys as well as girls from the greatest class ever to grace the halls of LCHS (and all spouses who are interested). We have room to sleep about 9 or 10 in a pinch, and I plan to ask a friend if we can borrow his cabin down the road. If we can get it, that will accommodate another 8-10 people. Plus, Ann lives a short distance away and so does my sister, Gail. There are also two good motels that are very close by in case you prefer a little more privacy. There are plenty of good restaurants also, including Ann and Alex's famous Rib Cage. We will not be hungry, I promise you! If you plan to come, please let me know so that I can be making arrangements. Just email or call. For our place, the first ones who ask will get a room, even if you have to share. I'll send directions to anyone who needs them. Please put this date on your calendar. If we have half as much fun as last year, we are in for a good weekend!

December 7, 2006 Hi everyone, Judy Mayo here. I thought I would give you an update on the collection of ink jet and lazer cartridges that have gone in to the Funding Factory which will give money to the Transverse Myelitis Association. Thank you so much for collecting. As of this date there have been 39 lazer and 46 injet cartridges given. This is an on going project so please don't stop. I just celebrated my 9th year with TM. It doesn't stop either. If you don't know what I'm talking about go to Judy Mayo info and check it out. Thanks again!

Martha- Once again, thank you for all your efforts on our behalf. Who could have imagined over a year ago that our class would be knit closer together even as we are scattered across several states? No matter where we live, whether in Lake County or in another part of the state or country, we are linked in friendship by your website. Every time I "visit," I find new information and fun things that make me smile. This is a very good thing that you do for us. I hope that everyone from the greatest class of LCHS has a wonderful Thanksgiving followed by an even better Christmas. Would ya'll like to go back to Pickwick for a weekend next April? This time, I think that everyone in the class should come, not just the girls. I will pick a weekend in April that will work with your schedules if you will let me know pretty soon. I think I can find more places for us to stay; we can work out the details later. Hope to hear from you individually if you are interested. Love-Susie

Okay, Martha, you may be the webmaster but listing the UT/Ark score was a bit over the top!.......By the way, I ran into Lou Wildrick a few weeks ago at a banquet. She teaches in Sevierville. She asked about Margie Davis who I know lives in Johnson City, TN and married a doctor, but I don't know her married name. Anyone know about Margie? Got to visit with Rita this weekend who was in Nashville for a Christmas show. She and Mayo have a product line of coffees, teas, etc. Did anyone catch Susan White and her husband Harold Copus on Dr. Phil this past week?

As you all are aware, my little sister Martha and husband, Paul will be pulling out of Conway, Ark. sometime Thurs., July 13th. My heart is heavy for my selfishness in that they will be so far from home and we will miss them dearly, but my heart is also thrilled at the chance for them to have this opportunity in their life to explore new adventures and be successful in Paul's career. I ask God to keep them safe on their journey to their new home. She knows how much I love her and will miss her. June Thurmon Gaulding

Martha, I thought that I would send you an early birthday wish. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! This web sight is great . Thanks for doing this for us. You are doing a good job keeping us in touch. The chicks-only party looked like lots of fun. However, how did Barry manage to come? I guess just a slick guy. I do not have any pictures to send since I am not yet in the digital camera stage of life. I am sure that my kids and wife will get me there soon. A guys-only party would be fun. However none of us could ever get that together. We may need you and Susie to get us together. I do not think that we could pull it off. Good-luck with your move. Doug

Sleeping arrangements will be available on a first come, first choice basis. There should be enough beds, with sofas and inflatable mattresses to accommodate everyone. Plus, Gail lives right down the road and has offered her bedrooms if needed. With two bathrooms and a laundry, we should stay clean! I'm looking forward to a fun weekend. Please drive carefully.

I just read through our last will and testament and, like Barry, I'm slightly embarassed about how childish I sound. Oh well. It makes me a bit more understanding about the seniors I have taught in past years and how foolish they sounded in their last wills! Ladies, what about the weekend at Pickwick on April 18-20? First, I remain amazed at how organic Martha keeps this site. And second, I am conflicted about our Will. (Thanks for including.) I realize we were only 17 (except for Barrell I guess) when we wrote those things, but they sure do fluctuate between being obtuse, obscure, petty, and occationally funny and perceptive. Here's to us and all those folks we "dissed"! Barry

Martha and other girl friends from class of '70- Is anyone interested in spending a girls only weekend at Pickwick? We have a house there that sleeps 8 comfortably (more on the floor). Also, we have friends who have another house just down the road that sleeps 10 comfortably. I think that they would let us use it. I think it might be fun to kick back, talk, eat, and do whatever. I could go any weekend in Feb., except the last Sunday, Feb. 26 might be a problem. March is busy for me except for the last weekend on the 24th, I could go. Also the first weekend in April would work for me, as well as the last two weekends. Call or email me if you are interested. If I hear from several, I'll pick a date based on the first responses I get, then post the date on this page. Hope it works. Susie

Have a Great New Year to the Class of 70. Thank you so much for the wonderful updates and the "Everything Else" page, I never thought it would come to this with the photo updates. As of December 7, 2005 Bill & Linda are grandparents to a beautiful baby boy, Garrison James, son of Charles and Alisha Bargery Cain.

Martha, I don't recall that the sign was white. Was it? I thought it was metal gray. But given my memory, it could have been purple! Barry

Who remembers Mrs. LeDuke's Latin I and II classes? I remember her telling the girls that we should save our fruit and not let anyone pick it till it was ripe, or some words to that effect. She seemed hopelessly outdated at the time, but in retrospect, Mrs. LeDuke was and remains a wise woman. Susie Lavenue

I attended a reception Saturday, Dec. 31 for Mrs. Catherine LeDuke honoring her 90th birthday. Still very sharp witted with her own unique and pointed way of expressing things. Saw Mary Lynn and Sharron there. If any of you have not visited the remodeled Tiptonville Public Library you really should. Excellent facility for a small town. Something to be proud of...... Happy New Year to all! Barry

I would love to know what happened to the Carroll twins. I know their dad managed the factory in Ridgely in the '60's - they lived in a nice trailer close to the factory and had a sister the age of my sister, Pat. I was in love with Lee - until I broke his finger :( MTH - *Thanks for the kind comments - give me your name.

Martha, you didn't just make the honor roll with this project, you made it all the way to valedictorian. Move over Douglass and Wendol! Congratulations. Does anyone know whatever happened to Lee and David Carroll who left Ridgely around the 6th grade?

I was really glad when Judy Mayo called me and ask if she could share some information about me on the website. I did not know about it until then. I think it is really nice and a good way to find out about the people I went to school with at LCHS. Thanks to Martha for starting the website and to Judy for telling me about it. Wilma Cain Turner

Hi class of 70, I'm helping Martha update info on you. If you object to me adding info on you to our site please let me know. I don't want to invade anyone's privacy. I still live in LC and have access to info on you.... Judy W Mayo
